Preparation
Application
We recommend always following the manufacturer's instructions found on the tin. It is recommended that a small test area is applied before treating the entire surface to ensure compatibility.
- Separate and open the two containers. Stir the content of component B well before adding the complete content of component A. Then stir the mixture for at least three minutes. It is important to mix the two components well for optimal curing and function. After mixing, the mixture should be left for 5 minutes to incubate, stirred again and then applied within one hour.
- We recommend applying one coat of SketchPaint.
- Apply SketchPaint using a roller for water-based two-component paints, or using Wagner XVLP spray technology. SketchPaint white can be sprayed undiluted. Sketch Paint Transparent should be diluted with 10% water before spraying. Mix the water with component B before adding component A.
- Because of the fast drying, apply SketchPaint not too thin in long overlapping strokes from top to bottom, and avoid excessive re-rolling. Start on the side of the incidence of light and point the tip of your roller in the direction of painting.
- Apply in one layer, and remove adjacent covering and tape within one hour after application to avoid damaging the edges.
- SketchPaint is tack-free after about 4 hours.
- SketchPaint has to cure for 5 days before it can be written on with dry-erase markers.
Note: Preferably paint surfaces not bigger than 8m2, so you can use one package. When two packages are needed, use a separate roller and tray for each package to avoid contaminating old paint with freshly mixed paint. Never mix multiple packages at once. To ensure a seamless application of two packages, ensure that the next mixture is mixed as soon as the first mixture is used up. For surfaces that require more than two packages, use Paint For Pros Sketch Paint instead.
Aftercare & Storage
SketchPaint has to cure for 5 days before it can be written on with dry-erase markers. Dry-erase ink contains a pigment, binder and solvent, just like permanent ink. The difference is the binder, which is an oily silicone polymer that will not stick to a non-porous surface. You can wipe off the dried layer of polymer without leaving behind a trace of the pigment. Let the ink dry before you try to erase it, or it will not protect the surface from the pigment.
Preferably use a cleaning solution every day to remove the invisible oily residue from the ink.Do not use permanent markers or abrasive cleaning agents on SketchPaint. In case of a mistake, permanent marker can gently be removed with paint thinner or nail polish remover.
Mag Paint's SketchMarkers guarantee easy erasing. Other brands of dry-erase markers can also be used, but some markers may leave traces on SketchPaint. Other marker brands should first be tested in an inconspicuous place.
