For your consideration we are offering for sale this Fabulous 1945 Parker Duofold Senior Dusty Rose Celluloid Fountain Pen in restored condition. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition. I would consider this one of the best Duofolds I have seen in quite some time.
I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, cap and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Blue Diamond Clip, Chevron Cap Banding and 14K Gold NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, Polished & Waxed the barrel, cap and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the celluloid of the fountain pen.
This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks, teeth marks or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The cap has the Blue Diamond Gold Filled clip with no brassing. The Gold Filled Chevron Cap Band displays a wonderful gold filled color, also, with no brassing. The top jewel is black and polished to a great shine The barrel is clearly stamped with, "PARKER DUOFOLD MADE IN U.S.A. with date code 5 in the fourth quarter". The transparency of the barrel is great as one can easily see through it. The blind cap securely fits. There are no monograms or personalizations on the cap or barrel. This Senior Parker Duofold Fountain Pen measures 5 3/8" in length capped and 6 1/8" posted.
The Vacu-Fill System works great, typically in my tests with water about 5 to 7 presses and it will roughly 7/8 full. This Vacu-Fill unit is in excellent condition; it operates smoothly and works flawlessly.
The actual writing portion of the 14K Parker NIB has a fine point measuring roughly .45mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample, the NIB writes with a fine to double broad stroke line. The writing sample provided in the image has a fine stroke measuring at .48mm and can flex to a double broad stroke of roughly 1.41mm with medium to firm pressure, I did not want to overextend the NIBs capabilities. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that is listed for sale. I have tested the filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Black Ink.
Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.
This is a fabulous vintage Senior Parker Duofold Fountain Pen in the Dusty Rose Celluloid that would easily grade in the Excellent Condition. Certainly a collector grade writing It is ready to write or just add to writing arsenal collection.
