Product Details
For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Magnificently Restored 1940 Parker Vacumatic Double Jewel Fountain Pen in Golden Pearl Celluloid. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Blue Diamond Arrow Clip, Chevron Cap Band (///\\\), Blind Cap Tassie, and 14K NIB. I have Cleaned, Buffed, Polished and Waxed the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the celluloid of fountain pen. This Parker Golden Pearl has some fabulous color, some the best I have seen.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition showing no chips, cracks or repairs with the cap always secure tightly to the barrel. The cap has the Gold Filled Blue Diamond Arrow Clip which displays no brassing. The Chevron Cap Band displays no brassing as well. The top jewel and the bottom jewel are black, each has been polished to bring back a beautiful shine. The barrel has a clean and crisp imprint that is stamped with, "Geo. S. Parker Parker Vacumatic Made in U.S.A. with date code 0 (for 1940) in the 4th Quarter". The transparency of the barrel is good and a person can easily see through the barrel with only minor ambering. The blind cap securely fits. This Parker Vacumatic is a major size that measures 5 1/8" in length capped and 6 1/8" posted.

This Parker Vacumatic has the proper 2nd Generation Speedline Filling Unit. The Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 7 to 9 presses to fill 7/8 full. I have greased the filling unit and now operates smoothly and functions as it originally was designed to.

The Parker NIB is a 14K split arrow NIB with matching date code (Q1 - 1940) as the barrel, which makes this pen a marriage of body and nib. This nib has a fine point measuring roughly .53mm when measured with digital calipers. The writing sample provided in the image ranges from a fine stroke that measures .45mm to a broad stroke of roughly .92mm with medium to firm pressure when measured with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

These Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pens in Golden Pearl with Double Jewels are becoming harder and harder to acquire with matching parts and in this type of condition. It is a beautiful, clean fountain pen with bright gold filled trim. I would grade this Parker Vacumatic in Excellent to Near Mint Condition. This is a collector grade fountain pen that is ready to write or just add to your writing arsenal collection.
